Fire System Fitouts Review

Sherington Property Management have appointed 2020 Fire Protection to modify the fire protection systems of a number of their client’s premises over recent years. Company Founder Tom Sherington agreed to be interviewed to review our performance with these ‘fitout’ projects.

Tom says: “These projects began with designs from specialist engineers. These independent designs have enabled fair competitive tender processes, which 2020 Fire have won.

“Sprinkler heads, smoke detectors, hose reels, fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment have specific spacing guidelines required by the building code and Australian Standards. Therefore, our clients needed to modify their fire protection systems as the equipment installed was custom designed for the spacing of previous building layouts.”

Common building modifications that have required new fire protection system fitouts include changes to wall positioning, paths of travel, ceiling types and new obstructions.
